Get to know Liz.

Before receiving my higher education I taught swim lessons with all ages for 7 years and witnessed the powerful skill development that is part of a playful learning process. In May 2021 I graduated with a Master’s degree in Art therapy & a Master’s in Clinical Counseling. During my educational instruction I spent time connecting with youth ages 3 and up in after school art programs and at inpatient programs for children & teens recovering from any variety of trauma and challenges.

What I love about my work is the intentional connection, to teach and reach out to experience the gifts of creativity with others who are in discovery, and provide chances to establish safety and bravery.

As for fun stuff about me: I read everything I can, especially books with pictures! I like pretending I’m a tourist and “exploring” every place that I live.

Creative practices in all their forms are important in my life and you will see me either drawing, singing, dancing, or learning a new creative aspiration nearly every day. I learned to roller skate at 25 and still actively skate at 30. I do love the beautiful beaches of Oregon, which give me an excellent place to delight in the joy of kite flying. And every weekend I hike with a pack of dogs on the trails rain or shine in order to appreciate the lessons of the seasons, since moving from Kansas the awe and bliss of the abundant nature here remains inspiring and rejuvenating.
